How do I use iFoneline ?

To access the iFoneline service, you must use the iFoneline Call Router at home or office.

How does it work ?

When a call is made, iFoneline Call Router is set up to route the call from your phone via iFoneline’s managed VoIP network and terminate the call at the called destination.

What is required to hook up iFoneline Call Router ?

Other than a landline and plain old phone, you need no other device or equipment to hook up with iFoneline Call Router. Instruction on how to connect is presented on this website and in the manual that comes with the box.

Will all my calls be on the iFoneline’s VoIP network?

Only calls to Australian mobiles, long distance (STD) and international phone calls will be routed through iFoneline’s  network. All local calls and calls to special service numbers like Emergency 000, 1300/1800/1900/13 will continue to go through your fixed line telephone company (Telstar, Optus….)

Should I cancel my local and long-distance service with my current telephone company ?

iFoneline Call Router works if you retain your fixed line with the current phone company. However, it is up to you to remove the long distance and international call connection from the current provider, or keep your existing service as a back up.

Will iFoneline Call Router affects my incoming calls ?

No. iFoneline Call Router will not affect incoming calls to your current phone service.

Can I still use my ADSL internet connection with iFoneline Call Router ?

Of course. iFoneline Call Router has neither direct connection nor interference with your ADSL internet connection. All you need to do is make sure that a ADSL filter is placed between the iFoneline Call Router and the wall socket, just like you are using the ADSL filter between your phone and ADSL connection.

How do I dial the called number with iFoneline Call Router ?

You dial the called number as you would normally do. It’s that simple. However, with the current telephone numbering plan, calls (without iFoneline Call Router) to a number that is 50km from your place within your city would incur STD charge by your telephone company. With iFoneline Call Router when you call such number, dial the area code before the number so that the call can be routed through lower cost iFoneline's network. Say if you're in Bankstown and want to call Dubbo, dial 02 then the number. Or if you're in Melton and want to call Dandenong, dial 03 then the number.

Do I have to pay monthly fee ?

You pay-as-you-go. No contract, no monthly fee. Top up credit into your account whenever you need.
